Yup, so here it is, my inaugural blog post. I'm not one to usually write a lot of things online, aside from the random comment on a forum post or quick tweet here and there, but I have decided that it's time to get with it and start putting things down somewhere. For those that don't know, I work for Stardock as a technical adviser (official title, it's on my business cards). Translation: I work support, which means that I am one of the guys down in the trenches helping you solve problems that may arise. I started back in April of this year, and have been doing what I can to make life easier for all of us. I've always been a big computer geek and wasn't a stranger to Stardock's software (specifically WindowBlinds and ObjectDock) when I signed on, but was unaware not only of the full array of software this company has to offer, but the community of people that come together around it. Let alone the fact that it was right in my home town (I live about 15 mins. away, I think I'm second closest out of everyone). Before Stardock, I worked part time at our local Geek Squad precinct as an in-store agent (yes, we really do call it a precinct, and ourselves agents). It taught me a lot about not only the technical, but how technology affects it's users, for good and for ugly, UGLY bad. It also helped pay for my schooling. I have an Associates degree in Computer Network Systems from ITT Tech (never did want to do the traditional collage thing). It was there where I really cemented my technolust from a serious hobby into a full blow, life driving madness. I eat, sleep and breathe computers. My laptop is the last thing I see before bed, and the first thing in the morning. I'm always looking to expand what I know and try new things just to tinker and get my hands dirty. I know Windows like it's a member of my family, and lately I've been an avid Linux user, as well as tinkering with my girlfriend's Mac. I think more that anything that this is what my writings here will focus on: my love affair with these machines. I hope some of you out there will find it interesting, useful, or at least worth the time to read and make fun of me for the white shirt and clip-on tie. Until next time...
